The story behind
Hotblooded, according to DoReSol
The song *Hotblooded* by Roxette, with a duration of 3:20, emerges from a period of intense creativity for the Swedish duo. Recorded over eleven months in Sweden as part of the album Joyride, released in March 1991, this piece is part of a work that sought to consolidate the international success previously achieved with Look Sharp! and the single *It Must Have Been Love*. Despite the record label's pressure to replicate success immediately, Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle resisted the temptation to move to Los Angeles to work with American producers, preferring to maintain their creative process at home. The result was an album that, according to retrospective criticism, captured two pop artists at the peak of their ability, topping the charts in seven European countries.
The production of Joyride featured engineering by Anders Herrlin and Alar Suurna, while the mixing was handled by Clarence Öfwerman, Roxette, and Alar Suurna. Clarence Öfwerman also took on the role of producer. Roxette, founded in 1986, established themselves as a benchmark of Swedish pop rock, with a career that includes selling 75 million records and singles, four number ones on the Billboard in the United States, and the distinction of being the first non-English speaking band to record an unplugged for MTV. Their international fame took off in 1989 with *The Look*, and was solidified with their contribution to the soundtrack of Pretty Woman.
