The story behind

Fianco a fianco, according to DoReSol

The song Fianco a fianco, with a duration of 3:12, is found on Nek's fourth studio album, titled Lei, gli amici e tutto il resto, released in 1996. This album marked a turning point in the Italian singer-songwriter's career. It was the first work that Nek released with a major record label and also the first to have a specific version for the Spanish-speaking market.

For the creation of this album, Nek worked with a renewed team, including a new producer and a group of musicians with whom he would collaborate for the next five years. The composition of the songs, such as Fianco a fianco, was a joint effort between Nek and Massimo Varini, who also handled the arrangements and artistic production along with David Sabiu. The lyricist, as in previous works, was Antonello De Sanctis. Nek described the release of this album as the beginning of his "second life," a period of greater creative freedom and a new focus on his sound.

Filippo Neviani, known artistically as Nek, was born in Sassuolo in 1972. His beginnings in music date back to the late 1980s, when he was part of the group White Lady. His solo career began in 1992 with a self-titled album. In 1993, he debuted at the San Remo Festival with the song In te, which addressed the issue of abortion and was inspired by a personal experience. In that same edition of the festival, Mietta performed Figli di chi, another composition by Nek. His participation in Cantagiro earned him recognition as the most popular artist, awarded by TV Stelle magazine. In 1994, he received an award for best young Italian singer, shared with Giorgia Trovato, and released his second album, Calore Umano, with the collaboration of prominent Italian musicians. This was his last work with the record label Fonit Cetra. Subsequently, Nek continued to achieve success with songs like Jane, Calore umano, Cuori in tempesta, and Angeli nel ghetto. His participation in the 1997 San Remo Festival, although it did not result in a victory, catapulted him to international fame with Laura non c'è.
