The story behind

Esperanzas y Tormentas is not one of those songs that stand out for their length, but in those two minutes or so, something beats that makes it special: it is a piece that got trapped in time, like a musical sketch that never became what its creators imagined. Recorded at a time when Fito was still searching for his place between Argentine rock and the influences of Trova rosarina, this song is part of material that almost no one heard at the time. It was not a single, nor even a track intended for an official album, but rather a fragment from a 1988 demo called Novela, a project that never really took off.
