The story behind
¿Dónde jugarán los niños?, according to DoReSol
The song *¿Dónde jugarán los niños?* is the one that gives its title to the third studio album by Maná, released on October 27, 1992. This record was published simultaneously in more than 40 countries and, for many, represents one of the group’s highest points in their career. It includes songs that became very well-known such as *Oye mi amor*, *Cachito* and *Vivir sin aire*, and has sold approximately 13 million copies worldwide.
This album had the particularity of being the only one in which Maná presented themselves as a quintet. It featured Iván González on keyboards and César López, known as "Vampiro" and with prior experience in Azul Violeta and Jaguares, on guitar. Both musicians left the band in 1994. Maná’s sound blends pop rock and Latin rock, and from the beginning they achieved international popularity in places like Australia and Spain, later expanding their reach to the United States, Western Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The band consists of Fernando Olvera on rhythm guitar and vocals, Juan Calleros on bass, Alejandro González on drums and vocals, and Sergio Vallín on lead guitar and vocals.
