The story behind
The song *Donde habita el olvido* is a thought-provoking piece, lasting just over three minutes, taken from the album *19 días y 500 noches*. This work, released on September 6, 1999, marked a milestone in Joaquín Sabina's career, becoming his longest album to date, with a total duration of 74 minutes and 18 seconds. The production was handled by Alejo Stivel, who was previously part of the band Tequila, and the distribution was by BMG Music Spain. The official launch of the album took place on September 7 at a unique venue, the Madrid Railway Museum.
The creation of *19 días y 500 noches* was not a straightforward path. Seven months were needed for its recording, and negotiations with the record label were intense. Initially, the idea of a double album was discouraged by the company due to its high price and the fact that the Spanish market was not very accustomed to this format. Finally, an agreement was reached to reduce the content, and the songs that were left out would be released later. On the technical side, the mixing of *Donde habita el olvido* was done by Brett Rader, while the overall production was overseen by Enrique Berro García and Alejo Stivel.
