The story behind

(Do You Get) Excited?, according to DoReSol

The song (Do You Get) Excited?, with its 4:18 duration, is from the album Joyride, released in 1991. This album came after the major international impact of Look Sharp! in 1988 and the song It Must Have Been Love, which was part of the soundtrack for the film Pretty Woman. The recording of Joyride spanned eleven months in Sweden. The duo felt pressure from the record label to repeat their success, but they resisted the idea of moving to Los Angeles to work with more experienced American producers.

The album was well-received by both critics and the public, being described in a retrospective review as "the work of two pop artists at the peak of their game". Joyride reached number one on the charts in seven European countries. The production of this work was handled by Clarence Öfwerman, with recording engineering by Anders Herrlin and Alar Suurna, and mixing by Clarence Öfwerman, Roxette, and Alar Suurna. The duo, formed by Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, had already experienced international fame in 1989 with The Look, and consolidated their presence with It Must Have Been Love.
