The story behind
When Leo Dan released his first studio album, simply titled Leo Dan, in 1963, there was already a spark that anticipated his journey. This debut album, released in Argentina by labels such as CBS and Columbia Argentina, featured twelve songs composed by himself. However, not everything was his own creation; it included an adaptation of "Unchain my heart," which became "Desencadena mi corazón," and "Deci porque no queres," a collaboration by Palito Ortega and Dino Ramos. From this initial work, songs like Celia, Fanny, Deci porque no queres, and Canta el corazón resonated with particular strength. To shape these recordings, Leo Dan worked alongside Milo y Su Conjunto.
The dissemination of this material quickly crossed borders. In Peru, the album found its way under the name Para ellas, distributed by Sono Radio. On the other hand, in Brazil, the label Gravações Elétricas S.A. was responsible for its publication. Even in Colombia, the local label Discos Tropical also shared it. This first album laid the groundwork for a career that would extend across various territories, showing from the outset a vocation for reaching different audiences.
