The story behind

In the second studio album by Bob Dylan, titled The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, released in May 1963, a key turning point is marked. This work is significant because it represents the beginning of his phase as a composer of contemporary lyrics over traditional melodies. While his debut album contained barely two original songs, in The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan eleven of the thirteen tracks are his own creations. The album opens with Blowin' in the Wind, a piece that would become an anthem of the 1960s and achieved great international popularity at the hands of the folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary. The album also includes other compositions considered among Dylan's best and classics of the sixties folk scene, such as Girl from the North Country, Masters of War, A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall, and Don't Think Twice, It's All Right.

Bob Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota, United States, on May 24, 1941, established himself in the 1960s as a folk singer-songwriter. His music, especially in that period, often addressed themes of social protest. A significant change occurred in 1965 with the album Highway 61 Revisited, where he fused rock with lyrics of great literary complexity, influenced by surrealism. His single Like a Rolling Stone was recognized by Rolling Stone magazine as the best song of all time and reached second place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. Subsequently, Dylan explored genres like country rock with Nashville Skyline and Self Portrait. In the 1970s, after a period without touring following a motorcycle accident in 1966, he achieved notable commercial success with albums like Planet Waves, Blood on the Tracks, and Desire, all of which reached number one in his native country.
