The story behind

When you immerse yourself in *Ascolta il tuo cuore*, you encounter a piece that captures that feeling of introspection and inner guidance. The song, written by a team including Vito Mastrofrancesco, Alberto Mastrofrancesco, Charles Cohiba, Cheope, and Fabrizio Pausini, was originally released in Italian in 1996 as part of the album *Le cose che vivi*. It was chosen as the third single from that work, reaching the public in February 1997. What's interesting is that a Spanish version also exists, titled *Escucha a tu corazón*, intended for the Spanish-speaking market and which was part of that same album's edition in that language. The song's duration is 4 minutes and 40 seconds, a length that allows its melody and message to develop.

The trajectory of *Ascolta il tuo cuore* extends beyond its initial release. We find it included in 2001 on *The Best of Laura Pausini: E ritorno da te*, a compilation album that reviewed her career. Furthermore, a live performance of this song, captured during a concert at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan in December 2001, was included in Laura Pausini's first live video album, *Live 2001–2002 World Tour*. Later, in 2007, Pausini performed it at the iconic San Siro stadium in Milan, a moment that was also recorded on her live album *San Siro 2007*. The production of the song was handled by Alfredo Cerruti and Dado Parisini, who worked with Laura Pausini to shape this Pop genre track. The music video accompanying the song was directed by Alberto Colombo.
