The story behind

Anni miei, according to DoReSol

The song Anni miei, with a duration of 4:44, is part of the second studio album by Italian singer Laura Pausini, titled Laura. This record was released by CGD Records in February 1994 and, worldwide, sold three million copies. The release of this album coincided with Laura Pausini's participation in the Sanremo Festival that same year, where she debuted in the category for young artists, after having won the previous year in the new proposals section.

At the festival, Pausini, who was a public favorite, ranked third. The song she performed, Strani amori, received some criticism for being considered too conservative and youthful, and some industry journalists perceived it as a shallow theme. Within the same album Laura, Gente was also included as the second single. Some of the tracks on this album were adapted into Spanish.

Laura Pausini is recognized as one of the most prominent Italian artists internationally. Her career has been characterized by ballads and love themes, though she has also addressed other social issues. She has sung in several languages, including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, English, and French, and is the only Italian artist to have received a Grammy Award. Throughout her career, she has sold over 45 million records and has been awarded hundreds of prizes. After a compilation album in 2001, which featured singles like Volveré junto a ti and Dos Historias Iguales, in 2002 she released her first English-language album. Songs such as Surrender and If that's Love reached the top spot on major music charts like Billboard. It is estimated that she has sold over 50 million copies and has earned 200 platinum records and 3 diamond records. Among her accolades are three World Music Awards in 1994, 2003, and 2007, and an IFPI Platinum Europe Award. In 2005, she won a Latin Grammy in the category of Best Latin Pop Album by a Female Artist for Escucha. The following year, in February 2006, she received an American Grammy in the category of Best Latin Pop Album for the same record. Later, in April 2006, she was awarded at the Lo Nuestro Awards as Female Artist of the Year.
