The story behind

Alle prese con una verde milonga, according to DoReSol

In *Alle prese con una verde milonga*, Paolo Conte weaves an atmosphere that evokes jazz and swing, but with a South American twist that gives it its own identity. The piece, lasting 5:12, was recorded in different studios: some parts at Format in Torino, under the supervision of Happy Ruggiero, and others at the RCA studios in Rome. This recording took place as part of his fourth studio album, Paris milonga, released on May 31, 1981. For this work, Conte resumed his collaboration with Lilli Greco, who had already been in charge of his first two albums, marking a return to the roots of his sound.

Paolo Conte, born in Asti on January 6, 1937, is a multifaceted artist who combines his singer-songwriter facet with that of a multi-instrumentalist and lyricist. With a background as a jazz pianist, his career took a decisive turn in 1974, when he left behind his profession as a lawyer to dedicate himself entirely to music. His style has earned great appreciation in France and on international stages. In addition to his musical work, Conte has explored other forms of expression, receiving an honorary doctorate in Painting in 2007 for his multimedia work Razmataz, awarded by the Accademia di belle arti in Catanzaro.
