Mary MacGregor

Mary MacGregor, was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, in May of 1948. From a young age she played piano and by adolescence she was involved in bands. She finished high school in 1966 and went on tour across the United States, until one day she met Peter Yarrow, of Peter, Paul and Mary. They joined forces to sing on a tour and appeared together on a love songs album.

In 1976 she released a single called "Torn Between Two Lovers". It was released towards the end of that year and by February of 1977 it was already on the charts. It climbed to the top 3 of country, reached the top 4 in the United Kingdom and became a sales success. Two more songs from the same album, also by Yarrow, also made it to the charts, but they didn't have the same impact.
