Iron Maiden

The essence of Iron Maiden lies in their powerful and distinctive sound, characterized by complex guitar melodies and lyrics that explore a variety of themes, from history to mythology. Founded in 1975 in Leyton, East London, by bassist Steve Harris, the band became a benchmark for British heavy metal, pioneering the movement known as the new wave of British heavy metal. Throughout their career, they have released albums that have achieved Platinum and Gold status in the United Kingdom and the United States, notably their self-titled 1980 debut album, Killers from 1981, and The Number of the Beast from 1982, the latter marking the arrival of vocalist Bruce Dickinson, who replaced Paul Di'Anno. Dickinson's inclusion was a turning point that catapulted the band to fame, making The Number of the Beast one of the best-selling and most recognized albums in the genre.

In the late 1990s, Iron Maiden experienced a period of transition, but the return of Dickinson and guitarist Adrian Smith in 1999 revitalized their career. Since then, they have released albums such as The Final Frontier (2010), The Book of Souls (2015), and Senjutsu (2021), all reaching number one in over 25 countries. With over 130 million records sold and more than 600 certifications, Iron Maiden has established itself as one of the most influential heavy metal bands. Throughout their career, they have been awarded multiple prizes, including a Grammy, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2026.
