Carlos Vives

Carlos Vives was born in Santa Marta, Colombia, in 1961. From a young age he was interested in music and acting. He moved to Bogotá and studied Advertising, then specialized in television production. In 1982 he started acting, playing the role of Julián in the telenovela Tiempo sin huella. It was a character of a dreamy teenager who wanted to be an artist. The script was written by Pablo Rueda Arciniegas, and it was directed by Jairo Soto. With this role he became known in the country.

The same year he participated in a miniseries called David Copperfield, where he played the main role. He also did commercials. The following year, in 1983, he acted in Pequeños gigantes, a program for children. He played the character of Guineo, a funny type who was always surrounded by children. He did everything: sang, danced, acted, created stories. He worked with actors like Manuel Busquets and Luis Fernando Ardila.
