Destinazione paradiso

When Gianluca Grignani released his first studio album, Destinazione paradiso, in February 1995, he not only presented his music to the world but also laid the groundwork for a sound that would resonate strongly. Recorded at Digital Studio l'Isola in Milan, Italy, this album primarily moves between rock and pop, with a marked inclination towards melodic ballads. These songs, for the most part, address the concerns and feelings of younger generations, creating a direct bridge with his audience. The album, produced by Massimo Luca and Vince Tempera, was a resounding success in Italy, selling over 650,000 copies in its first year alone and reaching more than 700,000 nationwide. Its reach extended even further, especially in South America, where a Spanish version, titled Destino paraíso, boosted total sales to nearly one million copies.

About the album

Destinazione paradiso, according to DoReSol

The impact of Destinazione paradiso was such that Grignani was recognized with a Telegatto award as Revelation of the Year in 1995, a testament to the stir his proposal caused. Two tracks particularly stand out from this work: "La mia storia tra le dita," a pop ballad that had already been presented during the selection for that year's Sanremo Music Festival, and the title track, "Destinazione paradiso," his official participation in the festival, where he achieved sixth place in the new artists category. Although not included in this initial release, the piece "Le-ro-là" was composed with the album in mind but would see the light of day years later, in 2010, as part of his eighth album.
