The story behind

Andrés Calamaro didn’t record Una bomba as just another track in his repertoire. He did it at a time when his sound had already spent years exploring between rock, blues, and those tango-infused twists that define him. The song was born in a quick rehearsal, almost like a catharsis among musicians who knew each other inside out, but with one detail that makes it sound different: the bass and guitar intertwine in a rhythm that doesn’t follow traditional time signatures, as if the track breathes in an unannounced 7/8 meter. The recording took place at Dombe studios, a place where Calamaro had already experimented with raw sound blends and more elaborate arrangements. There, with equipment far from that of a professional studio, the track found its final form in just three takes. There were no corrections or digital tweaks; what you hear is what remained after the band sat down to play without overthinking the final result. That said, Eduardo Cano’s bass—who would later become part of Los Twist—gives it that weight that keeps the song grounded, while Calamaro’s guitar shifts between deep, sharp notes, as if the track had one foot in a garage and the other in a dive bar.
