The story behind
That’s What I Call Love, according to DoReSol
The song *That’s What I Call Love* by Crowded House, with its 3 minutes and 39 seconds duration, presents us with a sound that invites reflection. Although it is not from their self-titled 1986 debut album, it does share the melodic essence and lyrical depth that characterize the band. The origin of Crowded House dates back to 1984, after the separation of Split Enz. Neil Finn and drummer Paul Hester decided to join forces, and they were soon joined by bassist Nick Seymour, who approached Finn during a concert in Melbourne. Initially, the group was known as "The Mullanes", and among their ranks was also guitarist Craig Hooper, who left the band before they signed with Capitol Records.
The career of Crowded House spanned from 1986 to 1996, leaving a legacy of recognized songs like *Don't Dream It's Over* or *Something So Strong*. Years later, in 2007, Neil Finn and Nick Seymour reunited to work on a new project, which led to the return of Crowded House with the album *Time on Earth*. For this new phase, Mark Hart rejoined on guitar and piano, and Matt Sherrod took the place of drummer Paul Hester. Throughout their career, collaborations such as those of Mark Hart on albums like *Together Alone* and *Recurring Dream* (1992–1996), and the participation of Tim Finn, Neil's brother, on *Woodface* (1990–1992), enriched their sound.
