Fun facts
George Harrison released a special album called Apple Jam as part of his triple album All Things Must Pass from 1970. It was an LP that had four instrumental tracks, three recorded during the album sessions, and one dedicated to It's Johnny's Birthday, a tribute to the 30th birthday of John Lennon. The album was made by Apple Records to make the album more appealing, which was expensive and one of the first to have three discs in one. The cover of Apple Jam was designed by Tom Wilkes with a jam jar logo and apple leaves.
The story behind
George Harrison wrote Thanks for the Pepperoni as part of his album All Things Must Pass, released in November 1970. It was his first work as a solo artist after the Beatles broke up in April of the same year. The song has a smooth rhythm, with a guitar that moves as if it were dancing. It is not a very serious song, more of a humorous moment within the album. The lyrics talk about a pizza with pepperoni, something that seems to be a daily detail, but which becomes a metaphor for something more profound. The song lasts five minutes and thirty-two seconds, and on Last.fm it has over a hundred thousand plays. It is a piece that shows how Harrison could write songs that were not only deep, but also funny.
