The story behind

Terra promessa, according to DoReSol

When Eros Ramazzotti released Terra promessa, there was already an artist with a particular voice and a story behind him. Born in Rome in 1963, his path to music was not direct. In fact, his father, Rodolfo Ramazzotti, had also attempted a musical career, recording two songs. Eros himself, who grew up in the Cinecittà neighborhood, even had some appearances as an extra in films, it is said in Amarcord by Federico Fellini, which won an Oscar in 1973. Despite this contact with art, his father, a painter, encouraged him to follow other paths. Eros even studied Accounting for a couple of years, but music called to him. He tried to enter the conservatory, but he was not accepted because he did not know how to read sheet music, presenting a song by Francesco De Gregori.

The song Terra promessa, lasting 3 minutes and 44 seconds, featured the collaboration of Celso Valli as arranger. This track became an important starting point for the career of Eros Ramazzotti, a singer who would become known for his distinctive nasal voice, a trait that would accompany him throughout his career in pop music. His music would resonate strongly in Italy, his native country, and would expand throughout Europe and Hispanic America, managing to sell over 55 million records globally.
