The story behind
Tanto faz, according to DoReSol
The song *Tanto faz* by Roupa Nova, lasting 2 minutes and 47 seconds, adds to the extensive catalog of hits by this Brazilian band. With a career spanning over three decades, Roupa Nova has managed to stay relevant thanks to an always active concert schedule and sold-out shows across Brazil, a notable feat considering their original members remain together.
Since their beginnings in the 1980s with songs like “Canção de Verão,” the group has known how to place their music on Brazilian radios and, very significantly, in Brazilian soap operas. This constant presence on television has been key to building and maintaining a loyal fan base that renews over time. The band, made up of highly skilled musicians, has released a considerable amount of recorded material, including 22 CDs and 5 DVDs, surpassing five million units sold. Specific songs like "Dona" in *Roque Santeiro*, "Coração Pirata" in *Rainha da Sucata*, "Começo, meio e fim" in *Felicidade*, and "Whisky a Go Go" in *Um sonho a mais* have become part of the popular imagination and are staples in their performances.
Facing changes in the music industry in the early 2000s, the members of Roupa Nova decided to take a step forward and establish their own label, Roupa Nova Music, to manage and distribute their work. An important milestone came in 2004 with the release of *RoupAcústico*, a CD and DVD that achieved outstanding sales and received major industry accolades. Later, in 2009, the band fulfilled a dream by recording at the iconic Abbey Road studio in London, a project that culminated in the album *Roupa Nova em Londres* and earned them a Latin Grammy award.
