From their beginnings in the 1980s with songs like Canção de Verão, Roupa Nova has managed to place their songs on Brazilian radio and soap operas, cultivating a loyal audience that renews itself year after year. With a production that includes 22 CDs and 05 DVDs, they have sold over five million units. Many of their compositions have become part of the collective imagination thanks to their inclusion in soap opera soundtracks, such as Dona in Roque Santeiro, Coração Pirata in Rainha da Sucata, Começo, meio e fim in Felicidade, and Whisky a Go Go in Um sonho a mais, songs that are recurrently requested at their concerts. Faced with changes in the music industry in the early 2000s, the band opted to create their own label, Roupa Nova Music, to manage their production and distribution. An important milestone was in 2004 with the release of RoupAcústico, which sold 220,000 DVDs and 320,000 CDs, earning significant recognition at the time. In 2009, they fulfilled a long-held desire by recording at the iconic Abbey Road studio in London, a project that resulted in Roupa Nova em Londres and was awarded a Latin Grammy.
