The story behind
Charly García wrote Superhéroes in 1982, when he was no longer with La Máquina de Hacer Pájaros. The song was born in the 70s, when he performed a version called Superstars with his band. The idea was kept and came back years later, in the first album of Charly García as a solo artist, Yendo de la cama al living.
To record it, he called Nito Mestre, his former bandmate from Sui Generis, with whom he had recently played. The lyrics talk about the last days of the dictatorship, just before it ended in 1983. The song was recorded in August 1982, in the ION and Panda studios, mixed by Amílcar Gilabert.
