The story behind
Sin ti, according to DoReSol
The song Sin ti stands out as the final track on the debut album by Hombres G, released in 1985. What’s interesting is that its origins trace back to a composition by Vladimir Cosma, which was performed by Richard Sanderson under the title "Reality". The adaptation into Spanish was carried out by David Summers, who managed to capture the essence of the original melody and transform it into a song that resonated with the youth of its time. The lyrics reflect a deep longing, a feeling many can relate to, making it an emotionally powerful piece.
The album Hombres G was recorded in a record-breaking nine days at the TRAK studios, amid a snowstorm in Madrid in January 1985. Before entering the studio, the band focused on selecting ten songs from a total of twenty-five they had been performing across different venues in the city. This selection process was not easy, as they sought the best compositions to showcase their fresh and authentic sound. Despite having a limited budget, the group managed to create an album that would mark the beginning of their career and is still remembered today for its energy and connection with the audience.
