Survivor recorded Silver Girl as part of the album Eye of the Tiger. The song was released in May 1982, just before the band started gaining popularity. It was written for a movie, Rocky III, by Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peterik. The track became a hit, reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and also dominating rock charts. It also reached number one in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia. The single received a Grammy Award and was chosen as the best song by the People's Choice Awards.
