The story behind

Si la ves a mi chica dile que la amo, according to DoReSol

This piece, *If you see my girl tell her I love her*, with its duration of 2 minutes and 28 seconds, brings us a fragment from the early stage of Luis Miguel. The song is taken from his second album, titled Directo al corazón, which was released in 1982. It was an album produced by his own father, Luisito Rey, and released through EMI Capitol Mexico. Interestingly, some later reissues, especially on CD format, presented variations. In certain cases, the title was changed to Un sol directo al corazón, and the cover image also evolved, replacing the original childlike figure with a more youthful, shirtless one. Even for the US market, under the Odeon label, the album was released under the name Un sol, while maintaining the selection and order of songs from the Mexican version.

Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1970, is an established figure in Latin American music. Throughout his career, he has explored a wide range of genres, from pop and funk to bolero and mariachi, demonstrating remarkable versatility. His career includes important accolades, such as five Grammy Awards and four Latin Grammy Awards. He was the youngest artist to receive an award from the American recording academy, at fifteen years old, for a duet with Sheena Easton.
