The Italian version would see the light a few months later, in September 1996. The impact of this album was notable, earning a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 1997 ceremony. In terms of commercial reach, the album achieved a gold certification in Portugal in just over a month and, worldwide, surpassed 5 million copies sold. In the United States, the RIAA awarded it a platinum record on November 18, 1996.
Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, born in Madrid in 1975, began his musical career in 1995 after signing with Fonovisa, a label of the Mexican company Televisa, which was key to boosting his career in Spanish-speaking markets and among the Latino community in the United States. Later, in 1999, he made the leap to the English-speaking market by signing with Interscope, and also joined Universal Music Latino. His discography spans over 60 million records and 40 million songs in both languages. The album Euphoria, for example, reached number one in sales in Spain and Mexico in its first weeks, selling over a million copies and 12 million singles, in addition to charting in the Top 10 in several countries. Throughout his career, Iglesias has been recognized with numerous awards, including a Grammy, a Latin Grammy, multiple Billboard Awards, World Music Award, American Music Award, and Premios Lo Nuestro, among others.
