The story behind
Secrets That She Keeps, according to DoReSol
The song Secrets That She Keeps, composed by Per Gessle, is featured on Roxette's debut album, Pearls of Passion. This album was originally released on cassette and vinyl in Scandinavia and Canada in late 1986. Over time, the album was reissued on CD in 1997, including additional material that had not been previously released, and had another remaster in 2009. The Swedish duo Roxette consists of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, who already had solid careers in their country before joining. In fact, Gessle had achieved great commercial success with his previous band, Gyllene Tider, scoring three number-one albums in Sweden in the early 1980s.
After Gyllene Tider disbanded in 1984, Gessle's solo work did not reach the same level of impact. The recording of Secrets That She Keeps featured the collaboration of Per Andersson as arranger and Alar Suurna and Robert Wellerfors on sound engineering. The official title of the track is Secrets That She Keeps and its duration is 3 minutes and 42 seconds. Roxette, the new wave duo, has established itself as one of the most successful Swedish acts internationally.
