The story behind
Safari, according to DoReSol
The track Safari, lasting 4 minutes and 2 seconds, is one of the pieces that make up the third studio album by Luis Miguel, titled Decídete. This album, released by EMI Capitol México on November 22, 1983, was recorded at Kirios Studios, located in Madrid, Spain. The recording process took place between July and September of that same year, in a studio that had previously been the workspace for other renowned artists such as Mocedades, Lolita, Luis Eduardo Aute, Camilo Sesto, Miguel Bosse, Julio Iglesias, and Joan Manuel Serrat.
The production of Decídete was led by Luisito Rey, the singer’s father, alongside Honorio Herrero, who also handled the executive production. Herrero is also the author of the album’s first single, which shares its title with the record. The original album included ten songs, with contributions from composers such as Herrero himself and the Spanish lyricist Luis Gómez-Escolar, among others. Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 19, 1970, has established himself as one of the most popular singers in the history of Latin America, exploring various musical genres throughout his career.
