The story behind
Decídete, according to DoReSol
When Decídete saw the light in 1983, Luis Miguel was already forging his path in music. This third studio album, released by EMI Capitol Mexico, was recorded at Estudios Kirios in Madrid, Spain, between July and September of that same year. The sound of this record draws from compositions by authors such as Honorio Herrero and Luis Gómez-Escolar, who contributed songs that made up the original production of ten tracks. The singer's own father, Luisito Rey, was involved in the production, along with Honorio Herrero in executive production, who is also the author of the song that gives the album its title.
The choice of Estudios Kirios was not accidental; names such as Mocedades, Lolita, Luis Eduardo Aute, Camilo Sesto, Miguel Bosse, Julio Iglesias, and Joan Manuel Serrat, among others, had passed through that space. Decídete, with a duration of 3 minutes and 2 seconds, represents a stage in the career of Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1970. His career has led him to explore various genres, from pop and funk to bolero and mariachi, consolidating him as a prominent figure in Hispanic America.
