The story behind
The track Rue de Moorslede, with its duration of just 36 seconds, is a sonic fragment that emerges from Camouflage's second studio work, titled Methods of Silence. This album was released in June 1989 under the Atlantic Records label. The production of this record was handled by Dan Lacksman, who had also worked with Telex, and it took place at the Synsound Studio in Brussels. For the recording, Lacksman combined technological equipment from both current and previous eras, seeking a particular sound.
The context of the creation of Methods of Silence was marked by greater creative freedom for the German trio, following the previous success of their earlier work. From this album, the single Love Is a Shield was released, which reached a notable position in the charts, peaking at ninth place in Germany and twentieth on the Billboard Alternative Airplay in the United States, consolidating itself as their most successful song. The band had established a new workspace, named "Boys Factory 2", near their hometown, before entering the Brussels studios.
