The story behind
Anyone, according to DoReSol
When approaching Anyone, we encounter a piece that, while not the biggest commercial success for the German trio Camouflage, encapsulates an interesting stage of their sonic evolution. The song was conceived during the recording sessions for their second album, Methods of Silence, released in June 1989. This album was a turning point, as the band had more creative leeway, something that is undoubtedly reflected in the atmosphere of their compositions.
To bring Methods of Silence to life, Camouflage established a new workspace, nicknamed "Boys Factory 2", near their hometown. Subsequently, they moved to Synsound Studio in Brussels. There, producer Dan Lacksman, with previous experience working with Telex, orchestrated the recording. His approach combined both current and more traditional technological tools, seeking a distinctive sound for the album. While Love Is a Shield became their best-known track, reaching significant positions on the German and US charts, Anyone is part of that effort to explore and consolidate their musical identity during this period.
