The story behind
What stands out the most in Plástico is that blend of urgency and electronic pulse that Duki brings to the track, as if the rap that defines him had dived into a puddle of synthesizers. The song doesn’t settle for the obvious: while Lali crafts clean melodic lines over a base oscillating between straightforward pop and electropop, the guest adds an unexpected twist, steering the sound toward a space where national rock and urban flow collide without overpowering each other. The result doesn’t sound like a forced collaboration, but rather a crossroads both explore fearlessly, unafraid to clash. The lyrics, though brief, act as a hook that repeats with the same insistence as the bass pulses in the bridge, making it catchy without falling into repetition.
The track was born during the sessions for No vayas a atender cuando el demonio llama, Lali’s sixth album, recorded between late 2024 and early 2025 in Argentina. Production was handled by Mauro De Tommaso and Federico «Don» Barreto, who had previously worked with her on Lali (2023), but here they opted for a rawer sound, with guitars sneaking between the beats and keyboards evoking the eighties without slipping into retro territory. The song was finalized in March 2025, when its position on the album’s tracklist was revealed—track four—and a week later, Duki’s participation was confirmed. At just two minutes and fifty-eight seconds, Plástico is one of those cuts you listen to on loop not because of its length, but because the energy it radiates makes you want to press play again.
