The song *Pez* by Café Tacvba, with its 2:19 duration, emerges from a period of great sonic exploration for the band. On Re, their second studio album released in 1994, they ventured into fusing an incredibly wide palette of styles. Imagine moving from rhythms rooted in Mexican regional music, such as trio, huapango, bolero, son jarocho, and norteña music, to territories as distinct as punk, funk, or grunge. The recording of Re took place in Cuernavaca, Morelos, an environment that undoubtedly contributed a special atmosphere to the process.
