The story behind

The song *Per amarti* has an interesting story behind its release. The Spanish version of this song, which is part of the self-titled debut album by Enrique Iglesias, was released on November 21, 1995, by Fonovisa Records. Shortly after, on September 3, 1996, its Italian adaptation appeared. The production of this work was handled by the renowned Spanish composer and producer Rafael Pérez Botija.

This album quickly garnered recognition. At the 39th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, held on February 26, 1997, the album won the award for Best Latin Pop Album. Sales also responded positively: in Portugal, it achieved gold certification in just five weeks, and worldwide, it is estimated to have sold over 5 million copies. In the United States, on November 18, 1996, the RIAA awarded it a platinum record. The song itself has a duration of 4 minutes and 4 seconds. Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler, known artistically as Enrique Iglesias, was born in Madrid on May 8, 1975. His foray into professional music began in 1995, signing with Fonovisa, a label of the Mexican company Televisa, which was key to boosting his initial career in Spanish-speaking markets and among the Latino community in the United States. Subsequently, in 1999, he made the leap to the English-speaking market by signing with Interscope, and also joined Universal Music Latino for his Spanish releases. Throughout his career, he has sold over 60 million albums and 40 million songs between his English and Spanish works, consolidating himself as one of the best-selling artists globally.
