The story behind
One More Time, according to DoReSol
The song One More Time, although today we strongly associate it with the voice of Laura Pausini, has an interesting origin. It was originally written by Richard Marx, who would later include it on his sixth studio album, Days in Avalon. However, the version that many know and which was released in 1999, was conceived to be part of the soundtrack of the film Message in a Bottle. This piece, with a duration of approximately 4 minutes and 25 seconds, is classified within the soft rock and adult contemporary genre, and its production was handled by David Foster, who also served as arranger. The final mix was handled by Humberto Gatica, while Felipe Elgueta was the recording engineer.
Although a formal music video was not filmed for One More Time, an acoustic performance included in Laura Pausini's video collection, titled Video Collection 1993–1999, is considered the official version. In it, the artist can be seen alone, first in a black dress and then in front of a white piano. This song has been compiled on several of her greatest hits albums, such as E ritorno da te and 20 - The Greatest Hits. Additionally, Myriam Hernandez recorded a Spanish version of the song for her album + y más... in the year 2000. The song has also been part of Laura Pausini's live performances, appearing on her third world tour and in live recorded versions on her DVD productions.
