The story behind
When Luis Miguel released Directo al corazón in 1982, he already had a path forged with his first album. This second work, produced once again by his father Luisito Rey, was released under the EMI Capitol Mexico label. What's interesting is that, depending on the edition and format, the album has had variations. Some CD versions, for example, merged songs from his previous work and even changed the title to Un sol directo al corazón, also modifying the cover image, going from a child to a more adolescent and shirtless version. Even, for the USA market, the Odeon label published it under the name Un sol, although the musical content remained faithful to the Mexican version.
Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1970, has consolidated himself as a central figure in Latin American music. His versatility has allowed him to move through genres as diverse as pop, funk, jazz, bolero, and romantic ballad, among others. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with multiple awards, including five Grammy Awards and four Latin Grammy Awards. His talent was distinguished early on, being the youngest artist to receive a Grammy at fifteen years old for a duet with Sheena Easton. With a career that exceeds 100 million records sold, his impact on the music industry is undeniable.
