The story behind
Non ti sopporto più, according to DoReSol
When we listen to *Non ti sopporto più*, we encounter a piece that, despite its direct title, invites attentive listening. Its duration, 4 minutes and 40 seconds, gives us space to immerse ourselves in the performance. The artist behind this song, known as Zucchero, whose real name is Adelmo Fornaciari, was born in Reggio nell'Emilia, Italy, on September 25, 1955.
Zucchero's career is remarkable, having sold over 50 million records throughout his career, positioning him as one of the Italian artists with the greatest commercial reach. His album *Oro, incenso e birra* was, for a considerable time, the best-selling album in the history of Italian popular music globally. A significant milestone in his career was his performance at the Kremlin, becoming the first Western artist to perform there after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Furthermore, in 1996, his name appeared in *The Faber Companion to 20th Century Popular Music*, a reference encyclopedia in modern music. In 1994, he had the opportunity to be the sole Italian representative at the Woodstock Festival. Over three decades, he has shared projects with an impressive list of international musicians, including Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Sting, Bono, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Peter Gabriel, Solomon Burke, Sérgio Mendes, Sheryl Crow, Mark Knopfler, and John Lee Hooker, among many others.
