Zucchero, whose real name is Adelmo Fornaciari, born in Reggio nell'Emilia on September 25, 1955, is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. Throughout his career, he has sold over 50 million records, positioning himself as one of the best-selling Italian artists worldwide. His album Oro, incenso e birra remained for a considerable time the best-selling album in the history of Italian popular music globally. In his career, Zucchero has had the opportunity to collaborate with an extensive list of renowned international artists, including Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, Sting, Bono, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Peter Gabriel, Solomon Burke, Sheryl Crow, Mark Knopfler, John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, B.B.
King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Iggy Pop. Furthermore, he has worked with prominent figures in Italian music such as Andrea Bocelli, Francesco De Gregori, Francesco Guccini, Elisa, Ivano Fossati, Mina, Jovanotti, Giorgia, Mogol, Ennio Morricone, Gino Paoli, Mia Martini, and Dodi Battagli. A significant milestone in his career was his performance at Live at the Kremlin, being the first Western artist to perform at the Kremlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1996, Zucchero also became the first Italian artist to be included in The Faber Companion to 20th Century Popular Music, a highly authoritative encyclopedia on 20th-century popular music.
In 1994, he was the only Italian artist to participate in the Woodstock Festival.
