The story behind
No puedo verme más, according to DoReSol
When Charly García embarked on this project, he was looking for a sound that would move away from his previous works. After the experience with Sui Generis, he decided to explore more complex compositions and lyrics with a different perspective. The result was La máquina de hacer pájaros, an album released in 1976 under the Talent Microfón label. The visual presentation was also carefully considered, with cover art by Juan Oreste Gatti and a comic strip created by cartoonist Crist, who described the group as "a progressive bird." The song No puedo verme más, lasting 4 minutes and 15 seconds, is part of this ambitious proposal.
The production of this album was notably expensive for its time in the history of Argentine rock. The intention was clear: to transcend known formulas and build something new. This spirit is reflected in the music, where an exploration of elaborate sonorities and a structure that invites attentive listening can be perceived. The collaboration on the cover art, with Juan Oreste Gatti and Crist, underscores the importance given to the conceptual presentation of the project, seeking a connection between the music and its visual representation.
