The story behind
Mini amor, according to DoReSol
The song Mini amor, with its catchy melody and a rhythm that invites movement, is included in the third studio album by Luis Miguel, titled Decídete. This record work saw the light of day in November 1983, and was recorded at Estudios Kirios, located in Madrid, Spain. The recording process extended between July and September of that same year, in a space that had already witnessed recordings by artists such as Mocedades, Lolita, and Camilo Sesto, among others.
The production of Decídete was handled by Luisito Rey and Honorio Herrero, who also participated as author on the album's first single. The compositions on this album, which originally contained ten tracks, included contributions from Honorio Herrero and the Spanish lyricist Luis Gómez Escolar, who along with Julio Seijas is credited with the music for Mini amor. This album was released through EMI Capitol Mexico, and became part of the repertoire of an artist who, born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1970, would consolidate himself as one of the most prominent figures in music in Hispanoamerica.
