The story behind
Mejor que vos, according to DoReSol
This song hits with an eighties disco punch that you feel before the lyrics even start. The bass kicks in with that sticky groove, almost like a nod to the dance floors of the 70s, but with a modern shine that keeps it fresh. It's not just another Latin pop track: it's the kind of song that makes your feet move without thinking, with a rhythm that repeats but never wears out, as if it were made to play on a stage bathed in neon lights. The production plays with layers of synthesizers that sound like a private party and a sunset balcony at the same time—something not common in today’s pop.
The story behind its recording has its own rhythm. Lali and Miranda! had already shared the stage in 2017, when the duo invited her to sing at the Luna Park in Buenos Aires during their tour. Two years later, they took the stage together again in Mar del Plata, but this time the collaboration went from live to recorded. The track was born in 2023, when the duo proposed to Lali to rework "Yo te diré" for their album Hotel Miranda!, but instead of sticking to the cover, they ended up creating something new. The lyrics, written between studios and hotels, reflect that mix of confidence and playfulness that only comes out when artists feel comfortable with each other. The result is a single released on February 6, 2025, two days after Lali announced it on her social media with a visual teaser inspired by the style of David Bowie and ABBA, as if they wanted to remind us that pop can also be a time-traveling journey.
