The story behind
Me voy a convertir en un ave, according to DoReSol
The song Me voy a convertir en un ave is the perfect closer for an album that draws from the essence of water, an element that Maná turned into the protagonist of Sueños Líquidos. Recorded in Puerto Vallarta, where the sea and the breeze shaped every note, this 5-minute and 2-second track not only marks the end of the album but also encapsulates the fusion between Latin rock and pop that defined them in the 90s. The title already suggests a free, almost poetic flight, but the music goes further: that rhythm swaying between melodic and energetic elements completes a work that, since its release, never stopped playing on radios in Spain and the United States.
The album Sueños Líquidos was born with the idea of creating an atmosphere where water was the guiding thread, and that is evident in every corner of the record. The band set up in Puerto Vallarta to record, taking advantage of the connection they already had with that coastal place, where the sound of the sea and the wind blended with the guitars. When the album hit the market in October 1997, it not only surpassed one million copies sold in Spain and the United States, but also opened the doors to international recognition they had not yet achieved. Among the achievements of that year, their first Grammy in the category of Best Latin Rock/Alternative Performance stands out, an award that arrived just as the group was beginning to establish itself as a benchmark for Latin Music outside of Mexico.
