The story behind

Me quedo aquí, according to DoReSol

The song Me quedo aquí has that calm air that makes it sound different from what Gustavo Cerati was doing at the time. It's not a track that relies on sudden changes or explosive riffs; instead, it's built on a clean, almost intimate melody where the Argentine musician's voice unfolds naturally, inviting you to keep listening. The detail that stands out the most is its structure: although it's not long, each section is designed to breathe, as if every note had its own space. That said, the ending doesn't fade out: it closes with a sharp hit that leaves the feeling that the song could go on, but it chooses to stop right there.

They recorded it at dawn, in a single take and almost without warning. The video was born almost by accident, right after finishing the clip for Lago en el cielo, when Óscar Fernández decided to take advantage of the moment and Cerati's mood to capture him sitting in a chair, singing as if no one was watching. The result not only captured that serene image but also became one of the most streamed singles from Ahí vamos, the album that brought him back to a rawer, more direct sound, far from the polished arrangements of his early solo records. In Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico, it was so popular that it earned a gold record, but the most curious thing is that, unlike other hits of the time, it didn't need extensive tours or aggressive promotions: people adopted it on their own.
