The story behind

Little Girl’s Eyes, according to DoReSol

The song *Little Girl’s Eyes* has a duration of 7 minutes and 45 seconds, a detail that already gives us a clue about the depth it can reach. The recording work for the album to which it belongs, titled 5, began to take shape in early 1997. Much of this creative process took place in the studio that Lenny Kravitz had in his New York home, where they immersed themselves in recording sessions starting in October of that same year. During this period, the studio received visits from figures such as Madonna, Chris Rock, Bobby Brown, Marilyn Manson, and Gwen Stefani. Subsequently, the sessions continued at Compass Point Studios in The Bahamas, under the supervision of engineer Terry Manning, who was also responsible for mixing the material.

Lenny Kravitz's musical style, who was born in New York in 1964, is characterized by fusing influences from blues, rock, soul, funk, reggae, and hard rock, often with a retro touch. For the album 5, released in May 1998, Kravitz further explored these sounds, incorporating elements inspired by the 70s, funk, and soul, without abandoning his rock foundation. In production, he relied on digital technology, using synthesizers and tape loops to give the album a distinctive sound. The album generated six singles that were released between 1998 and 1999.
