The story behind

The song *Les Commencements* has an interesting story behind its creation. While the album to which it belongs, François, was originally released in 1989, a remixed version by P. Hammond and P. Waterman, known as the "Britmix", appeared in 1988. This version, despite not reaching the top spots upon its initial release, had a journey that led to its reissue. The album François, named after the artist's partner, was published in 1990.

The artist behind this piece is Desireless, whose real name is Claudie Fritsch-Mentrop. Born on December 25, 1952, her path to music was not direct. After exploring fashion design and taking several trips to India around 1980, she found her calling in singing. Her meeting with producer Jean-Michel Rivat in 1984 marked the beginning of her musical collaboration. Shortly after, in 1985, she met François Tabah, a French composer with whom she would have an 18-year relationship. It was in 1986 that she released her best-known single, Voyage Voyage, which became a huge hit in Europe and sold millions of copies. After releasing singles like Chercher l'Amour Fou and Qui Peut Savoir under the name "Air" (unrelated to the later electronic duo), the release of Voyage Voyage under the name Desireless in 1989 was crucial, achieving great popularity in Europe and even in Russia, and playing strongly in clubs. The duration of *Les Commencements* is 4:02.
