The story behind
When the Green Gnomes reunited to record Igual que ayer, the album that would be released in early 1992, they added keyboardist Eduardo Lalanne to their ranks. His presence was noticed, even appearing on the cover alongside Cantero, Staiti, and Piccolo. In this comeback process, Andrés Calamaro contributed his talent not only as the album's producer but also by adding backing vocals and playing various instruments on each of the songs. The track La luz de tu mirada, with its 5 minutes and 1 second duration, is taken from this work, which marked the group's return after a period in which Marciano Cantero explored his solo path.
The recording of Igual que ayer, under the EMI label, marked a new chapter for the Argentine band. The incorporation of Lalanne and the collaboration of Calamaro, who in addition to producing was involved in playing instruments and providing backing vocals, gave a special nuance to this sixth studio album. The song La luz de tu mirada is a clear example of this stage, where the energy of the reunion merged with the individual experience of its members and the vision of its producer.
