The era is giving birth to a heart is a song by Silvio Rodríguez, written in the sixties and first recorded in 1968. The singer's voice is accompanied by drums and organ, and appears on an album called EO Protest Song. However, the most famous version is the one released on the album At the End of This Journey, in 1978, featuring only Silvio's guitar.The lyrics are based on Che Guevara, and it was written shortly before another song also dedicated to him. The song became popular thanks to a version by Los Bunkers on their album Free Music, released in 2010. It was the last single from the album, and featured the voice of Manuel García. Although released in 2012, it didn't gain much acceptance in Chile or Mexico, and was one of the least sold singles from the album.
