The story behind
Kim, according to DoReSol
Eminem wrote Kim as one of the first songs from The Marshall Mathers LP, shortly after finishing The Slim Shady LP. The song tells a violent story, with Eminem imitating the voice of his ex-wife, and ends with a scene in which he imagines her dead and put in the trunk of his car. It was recorded during a tense moment in their relationship, when Kim refused to let him see his daughter. The song appears in the original album version, but in the clean edition it was replaced by another. The song stood out for its graphic content, and became one of the most remembered songs of his career.
