The story behind
Kill You, according to DoReSol
Eminem recorded "Kill You" in November 1999, as part of the album The Marshall Mathers LP. The song was released in 2001 and is part of the promotional singles for the album. In the edited version, it is called "**** You", a reference to Eminem's mother, who sued him for accusing her of smoking drugs, something that also appears in "My Name Is". The song has a horrorcore style, with a beat that, according to French pianist Jacques Loussier, was allegedly stolen from his song "Pulsion". Loussier sued Eminem for 10 million dollars, but could not stop the album's sale. In the lyrics, Eminem also mentions a rap style called "acid rap", which he refers to as something he does not do, but raps when he takes acid. At the end, he tells his mother he is not serious and tells her he loves her.
