The story behind

Kids With Guns, according to DoReSol

The song *Kids With Guns* by Gorillaz draws from direct and raw observation. The creative spark came from a real incident: a child at Damon Albarn's daughter's school appeared one day with a knife. This situation, beyond being a specific problem, resonated with Albarn as a reflection of the "brutalization" a generation is experiencing. The lyrics, therefore, do not seek to preach, but rather to expose this reality, suggesting how the fascination with violence, often amplified by the media, can shape young people. The participation of Neneh Cherry on vocals adds an additional layer to this sonic exploration.

This track, which is part of the album Demon Days released in 2005, was presented as the fourth and final single from the record in the United Kingdom on April 10, 2006. It was released alongside *El Mañana*, reaching number 27 on the British charts. Although it does not have an official music video, the images that accompanied its live performance during the Demon Days Live tour at the Manchester Opera House in November 2005 offered a visual sequence of weapons in red, white, and black, sometimes arranged in a way that resembled a windmill, an allusion to Noodle's floating island. The track's duration is approximately 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
